Harvest Industrial Outdoor Wireless Thermostat

HWT-1 HTXAT-1

The Harvest Wireless Thermostat was designed so that a remote wireless temperature sensor could be used to start a frost fan type wind machine. It uses a Harvest Wireless Temperature Sensor with a range of at least 200 metres and a new receiver control panel.

The unit features a backlit LCD display with two latching relay outputs for very low power operation. It can be configured to operate one or two relays to start a diesel powered wind machine. In single relay mode when a preset temperature is reached the relay operates to start the wind machine. When the reset temperature is reached the relay turns off after a delay to ensure that the wind machine has done a complete revolution. All options can be changed from the front panel after entering the service password.

In relay two mode the first relay is used to turn on the engine auto start panel and wait until it has stabilised before operating the second relay to start the engine. This mode can be used to greatly reduce the standby power consumption of the engine electronics,. A typical engine autostart panel uses 100mA at 12Volts which will flatten the starting battery in a month unless a 20 watt solar panel is installed to charge the battery. With the Harvest thermostat the power consumption is less than a milliamp. A five watt panel will then be sufficient to keep the engine starting battery fully charged and run the Harvest thermostat.

The thermostat can also be used as a house frost alarm where the owner of a vineyard or orchard just wants a simple alarm in the house to indicate a preset temperature.
