Harvest Rail Crossing Monitor
Developed for Tranz Rail in New Zealand (now Ontrack),
our Rail Crossing Monitor (RXM) monitors the following functions at a rail crossing:
- Mains powered.
- Battery status (and presence—for theft).
- Track temperature.
- Current to each lamp (via non-invasive Hall effect sensors).
- Bell current (Hall effect).
- Logs all relay activity and auto-reports errors after programmable timeout.
The system uses a GSM/GPRS modem with five day battery backup to
report daily logs, and it can be interrogated at any time by field
staff. Staff have online internet access to graphs of the past and
present status.
Five levels of alarms can be programmed for different responses:
from immediate reporting to cellular phone (or email)
through to next-day scheduled maintenance.

information.
